I don’t have the mental space for payroll right now

I recently switched my salon to an S corp designation, and my accountant told me, "Okay, you're going to need to do payroll." Back when my family had a salon, before Hurricane Katrina, we did payroll manually. But I don't have the mental space right now to do all the research and get reacquainted. 

I started looking at my options, and the prices for payroll services were more than I wanted to pay. I came across an advertisement for Roll, and I liked the price point, and I liked the idea of being involved in the process but someone still kind of doing it for me.

After reaching out to ADP, I received an email, downloaded the app and just started plugging in the information. It took me maybe five minutes to set up. The platform was very simple. It was kind of just plug and play.

I've been enjoying the ease and flexibility of Roll. Payroll takes me maybe one minute. I just look it over, confirm the details and press confirm. And I definitely enjoy all the reminders that say, "Payroll is coming up," "payroll is due now" and "cut the check today." It's fairly simple. With Roll, I feel like I have a team and an HR department.

Roll allows me to have great work-life balance

When I first learned I had to do payroll, I thought it was just going to be one more liability, one more thing my business couldn't afford, especially during the pandemic. But Roll frees up my time. I'll pay myself if something is left over. But no, I get to pay myself now. And it's really nice.

I'm truly a service-oriented person, and I enjoy making other people's lives easier. Sometimes, that simply means making them look good, feel good, keeping their hair healthy, and having good conversation while doing it.
